6 DAY INTENSIVE
APRIL 26-MAY 1, 2025
Live, Online
Most yoga teachers feel deeply called to help their students move better, feel better, and live without pain—but the traditional training you’ve received doesn’t fully equip you to do this with confidence.
If you’ve ever wondered:
– How do I help students with chronic pain, hypermobility, or post-surgical recovery—without making it worse?
– How do I transition from group classes to private, higher-value work?
– How do I truly see compensations and movement patterns in my students?
– How do I integrate nervous system regulation and trauma-informed approaches without getting lost in theory?
Then you’re in the right place.
Most yoga teachers are taught to correct movement, but few are trained to see the hidden compensations that drive pain in the first place. That’s why inside the Therapeutic Yoga Intensive, you’ll learn the Functional Synergy Process—a proven, step-by-step approach to helping your clients move out of pain for good.
This process isn’t about giving endless modifications or forcing corrections. It’s about guiding clients toward sustainable, pain-free movement by working with their nervous system, not against it.
– Granular Movement Techniques – Learn to recognize subtle compensations and refine movement with precision.
– Nervous System Regulation Strategies – Understand the role of safety, breathwork, and polyvagal principles in pain relief.
– Targeted Rest and Recovery Methods – Learn how to incorporate deep rest and recovery strategies for lasting pain relief.
– Strength, Mobility, Stability, Power and Endurance Progressions – Integrate strength work that complements yoga without increasing tension or discomfort and help your clients get back to the life and activities they want to be doing
These tools aren’t just theory—they’re actionable and immediately applicable, helping you make impactful changes in your teaching right away.
Understand the role of the nervous system and how to create true safety in movement.
Learn how to refine your teaching for immediate impact.
Integrate strength, mobility and breathwork in a way that meets real-world needs. Learn how to interact and integrate with the program clients receive from their physical therapists, osteopaths, and more.
Learn how to transition from regular group classes to sustainable, high value offerings.
I’m Susi Hately, and I’ve been immersed in this work since 1995, training yoga teachers and health professionals since 2001. I have a B.Sc. Kinesiology and am a C-IAYT yoga therapist.
Over the years, I’ve helped thousands of people reduce and eliminate pain, recover from knee and hip surgeries, thaw frozen shoulders, reduce autoimmune flares, and heal after cancer surgery and treatment. One of my most meaningful successes has been helping my husband retrain his PTSD and hypervigilance response from his career as a firefighter.
In 2004, I published my first book, Anatomy and Asana: Preventing Yoga Injuries, which provides a movement-oriented perspective on why injuries occur in yoga and how to prevent them. This Intensive builds on that foundation, offering a holistic, practical, and deeply impactful framework for transformation and healing.
The Therapeutic Yoga Intensive is for those seeking an integrative mind-body approach that focuses on building interoceptive and proprioceptive capabilities—because without these two components, lasting relief from pain is almost impossible.
Many Intensive graduates have practiced yoga for a few years and bring extensive experience in their health professions. They come from diverse settings—studios, clinics, or home-based practices. Some teach group classes, while others work exclusively 1:1.
Other graduates may not be yoga teachers but are health professionals such as:
– Move beyond generalized cues and truly see what’s happening in their students’ bodies
– Learn a simple yet powerful process for assessing pain and movement dysfunction
– Confidently work with clients experiencing chronic pain, hypermobility, injuries, or movement restrictions
– Build a sustainable private practice by offering transformational results
– Teachers who want to keep teaching generalized yoga sequences without adapting to students’ needs
– Those looking for a rigid, one-size-fits-all method rather than a framework that adapts to each student
– People who aren’t ready to challenge the way they currently see movement and pain
Deepen your understanding and awareness of movement patterns so that you can reduce physical pain, and increase healing.
With the 6-day Therapeutic Yoga Intensive, you will meet LIVE online with a small cohort of trainees over 6 days from 8am-2:30pm MT.
You will go through the course material live on Zoom with the cohort, and will have access to all the training recordings.
If you are ready to fully commit yourself and your practice, to build your awareness and begin the healing journey in just 6 days, then the Therapeutic Yoga Intensive is for you!
PLUS when you register . . .
We will send you a box of goodies to help with your training!
You’ll receive step-by-step guidance to build your skills in an embodied and practical way. My primary goal is to help you deeply integrate what you learn, so it’s not just knowledge but something you can confidently apply.
I teach in a way that mirrors how I work with clients, so this is far from a lecture-only experience. You’ll actively engage with the material, collaborate with me and the group, and explore the concepts in real time for a hands-on, immersive learning experience.
1. Do you believe that healing is possible?
2. Do you want a no fuss, candid and truly loving approach to being real about “what is”; to dig in and explore yourself in movement, breath and stillness?
3. Do you know that your level of awareness, connection and integration has a direct impact on your results with your clients?
4. Do you recognize you can’t ask a client to do what you aren’t willing to do for yourself?
5. Do you believe that pain can actually change?
6. Do you want to learn how to help your client find relief, retrain neuromuscular patterns, and refine how they are going about their daily activities so they have sustainable and consistent change?
Most yoga therapy programs focus on broad principles. This Intensive is specifically about movement assessment, pain resolution, and building a sustainable private practice.
Yes. This is not a self-paced course. You’ll get direct feedback and coaching on your movement assessments, cues, and sequencing.
Both! While private clients often get the deepest results, we’ll also cover how to adapt these techniques for group settings.
This framework is based on science and real-world application. It’s designed for yoga teachers who want to help their clients truly get out of pain—without relying on guesswork.
