You are feeling strain and tension around your rib cage, chest, arm and arm pit that really isn’t changing.
You have tried a bunch of things and the tension continues and your scar gets more ropey.
It is still a bit difficult to get your arms over your head and behind your back to do up or take off your bra.
You would like to get back to more activity – tennis, pickleball, weight lifting – activities that use your arm and shoulder.
But you also want to be safe – you don’t want to hurt yourself.
You are looking for a teacher who understands.
You don’t want just another teacher or trainer.
You want someone who understands cancer treatment and recovery.
A teacher who clearly cares, understands the whole body-mind relationship, and has a good understanding of science/evidence/results.
Someone who will keep it real without spewing BS.
A teacher who has worked with 100s of people and helped them get back their activities they love.
And, their clients have proven success reducing or eradicating the tension, strain or ropey scar feeling.

How Susi Helps
For almost 30 years I have been combining my B.Sc Kinesiology with therapeutic aspects of yoga to help people reduce and eradicate pain.
My yoga for cancer recovery program was studied at the University of Calgary for 8 years, serving hundreds of people throughout the spectrum of cancer treatment and recovery.
The research showed there were benefits of therapeutic yoga both during treatment and post treatment.
Through and since that 8 year period, I saw and continue to see people make significant gains post breast cancer treatment.
They . . .
Improve their movement patterns and resolve patterns of tension and tightness post surgery.
Bring suppleness back to their tissue impacted by surgery, chemo and radiation.
And, as they gain in their physical body, their confidence grows, their fear reduces, and their inner clarity rises.
They also reconnect to a depth of inner wisdom that can often be hammered away with cancer treatment.
It is especially true if your issue feels really “tight” or strained around the area of surgery and into your rib cage, arm pit.
Many people are told this is due to scar tissue and/or radiation, and that the tissue has been impacted by surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation.
This isn’t wrong information . . . tissue is impacted by treatment . . .
However, with intelligent awareness, and specific movement, you can have a totally different experience.
Your tissue can shift and that tight and strained feeling can resolve.
You can get your arm over your head, and behind your back.
You can style your hair, put on/take off your bra, or play a hard game of Tennis, Pickleball, or Lift Weights again.
There are 4 Key Factors for Improving Movement, Softening the Scar, and Reducing Tension and Strain.
Softening the Scar Is Faster and More Sustainable with Massage and Movement.
Many people over work the scar massage and can create more tension. Combining thoughtful and gentle movement can rekindle vital and energy and transform the tissue quality of the scar.
Yes, there was treatment in the area where you have pain and strain. And, so often the gains are not made by working only at the shoulder and chest area. You need to work with the hips, torso, neck and even your feet and see the how the whole of your body impacts and influences how your shoulder, shoulder blade and rib cage feel.
Recognizing the Compensatory Patterns that Contribute to Tension and Strain.
This builds upon points 1 and 2. The more awareness you have for how you move, the better your outcomes will be
The slower you go the faster and more sustainable your results. This can intially feel frustrating, until you see the changes.
These 4 concepts all work together to support recovery and
healing post breast cancer treatment.
In fact, many of my clients have said they feel stronger, and more agile than before their diagnosis.
