Functional Synergy:

Yoga Therapy
Certification

Harness the intelligence of your body and the knowing in your heart to confidently support yourself and your clients to heal.

Become a Yoga Therapist to help people out of pain and restore function in their everyday life

You are here for one simple reason . . .

You know that recovery and healing is possible.

You have either seen someone who has experienced persistent symptoms of some sort, and have used that experience to grow (or perhaps you are that someone).

You’ve seen clear as day that life happens for you, not to you.

The “curve balls” that come your way are opportunities to grow, evolve, and step into a fuller version of yourself.

Knowing this, you want to integrate your professional training as a yoga teacher and/or medical professional with therapeutic aspects of yoga.

You want to help your students or clients in a meaningful way, to reduce and eliminate their pain.

If you feel there is a gap in your learning and knowledge that is limiting your abilities to help people. . .

If you want to elevate your confidence and credibility with anatomy knowledge and therapeutic training . . .

If you want to expand what is to be human and what is possible for you, your clients, and your life . . .

If you’re yearning to add private 1:1 training to your practice and reduce (or eliminate) the amount of group classes you teach . . .

If you want to surround yourself with people who are as keen as you are to grow their skills . . .

I am here to help you build your excellence and coach you to be the best Yoga Therapist you can be.

Demonstrate the power of presence, of Love and deep caring. Recognize and act upon the "conversation under the conversation". And meet your clients where they are at.

These are the foundational attributes on which the Yoga Therapy Certification Program was built on.

Amazing results happen when we combine logic with intuition and great technical skill with heartfelt and sustainable, inclusive business practices

There are many accredited and non-accredited yoga therapy programs available around the world. They all offer a lot of value to their trainees.

The focus of our accredited Yoga Therapy Certification Program is to equip you with two key skill sets – extraordinary technical skill and business intelligence.

The statistics from the IAYT are that yoga therapists typically earn $10 K per year as yoga therapists.

Our graduates far exceed that with many earning over $50K annually and some earning over $100K annually, all while not burning out.

The Curriculum

The Healing Model

Susi’s healing model is a tool that bridges the biomedical world with whole body-mind thinking. It sets the relationship between client and teacher as fundamental to the trajectory of healing and outcomes.

By applying this model with your clients you will see your results shift exponentially.

Susi’s most spoken line is “Where the pain is, isn’t the problem. The real problem is under our level of awareness.” In a nutshell, we can’t change anything we aren’t aware of which is a key reason why pain remains persistent and is not resolved.

Applying this concept will help you to become more deliberate and accurate with your teaching.

When you can apply anatomy to movement and movement to pain reduction, you’ll see more clearly what the real problem is.

This will improve your ability to choose the techniques or tools for your clients.

Susi coined the term “Biomechanics of Healing” very deliberately. Our nervous systems are very plastic. Our tissue can change.

When we combine the way our brains work with the ambition and drive our minds and the mechanics of our body, real healing can arise.

The interweaving of our body, mind, and trauma has been well documented. There are now known frameworks that support both the professional and client in the healing process.

When we learn to use these in clinically supportive ways we can foster safe healing spaces.

To enable growth and healing, we recognize that the body supports the mind and the mind supports the body. We want to not balance being and doing, but rather feel and explore the synergy of the two.

This is where powerful growth happens.

There are contributing factors for why people’s progress can be slow, or stall completely.

Understanding these ideas will reinvigorate your connection with your client and their needs.

Here’s what the next two years look like for you:

Module 1: Online Therapeutic Yoga Intensive

Module 2: Integration Training

Module 3: Time to Fly

And beyond graduation . . .

PLUS when you register . . .

You’ll receive a box of goodies to help with your training. This includes: a backbender, spinal strips, tongue scraper, theraband door hanger, and a few feel good bonuses.

This is for you if:

1. You are a yoga teacher or movement professional who wants to integrate therapeutic aspects of yoga into your current practices.

2. You want to grow your business. You want to be self-employed with your own client base and set a schedule that works for you.

3. You believe healing is possible. You recognize that tissue can change and where the pain is is not the problem.

4. You understand that while physical pain is interpreted in the brain, it is a very real physical experience that can be reduced or eradicated.

5. You have benefited from my trainings, whether it was a program or something from my podcast or social channels. What I teach isn’t for everything, but it makes sense to you. And you want to learn how to teach according to the principles I share.

6. You recognize that healing is a whole body and mind experience. Simple as that.

7. You understand that to be successful means you have to grow. It will be uncomfortable at times and we have your back, 100%. We have the support and structure designed into the program to enable you to develop your skills, hone your craft and build the business you want.

8. You believe in the phrase “you can’t ask anyone to do what you aren’t willing to do yourself”. You value the importance of “eating your own cooking”, “practicing what you preach” and “being an example of what is possible”.

This is not for you if:

1. You are not willing to learn or do the exercises. To make a change, you will need to follow the concepts that are taught. It won’t take a lot of time, will require a sustained commitment.

2. You only follow science-based evidence. Clinical studies are fascinating as they shed light and ask good questions. I see them as the start of a conversation, not the end.

3. You’re not ready to commit to the practice. The Yoga Therapy Certification Program is a two-year program and requires your full attention. If you’re already struggling to find the time to attend to your daily responsibilities, this may not be the right fit at this moment.

4. You’re just looking for modifications and new sequences. Yoga therapy is more than sequences. It’s about seeing your clients and students as an individual human being and working with them where they are at. Therefore we don’t teach you modifications. We teach you how to work with your client as a unique human being to reduce and eradicate their pain.

Apply to be a Certified Yoga Therapist

The Functional Synergy Yoga Therapy Program is the highest level of coaching we offer.

It takes dedication and commitment but we are here to guide and support you each step of the way. Seriously.

This is the only program I offer where you are in constant contact with me, my team and your classmates throughout the program (and beyond).

And once you’ve completed the 800-hours, you still get to connect with us through Practice Labs, Office Hours and through the alumni community.

This is 800-hours of harnessing the intelligence of your body and your wisdom, to use the knowing in your heart to confidently support yourself and your clients to heal. And to turn it into a growing practice that suits your life.

Your investment for two years of embodied experience, coaching, support and business building is $20,000 (that works out to $833/month). Payment plans are available.

The best part about this program is . . . you still work with clients while you’re in the program. Part of being in the Yoga Therapy Certification Program is the opportunity to work on your real-life case studies with the guidance of the Functional Synergy team.

Like I said, you’re never alone in this program.

This program has been specifically designed to support you in developing the skills and tools to not only be excellent at what you do, but also to build a client base before you graduate.

You will build your businesses while you learn, cultivating clients, developing referral networks, earning money and making a difference to everyone in your orbit.

Many of our trainees earn back their tutition fee within 9 months of enrolling, and 95% earn it back within 1 year of graduating. By the end of the program, you will have built a business that works with your schedule, your clients, and is making you money.

But . . .

This program isn’t for everyone. The Yoga Therapy Certification Program has been designed to include a small class size with engaged and motivated trainees who are ready to commit to themselves and their practice and, ultimately, to serve their clients to recover and heal.

At Functional Synergy, Certification is earned, and not a given. We deeply believe in our role and responsibility as yoga therapists and how we work with our clients. We certify those yoga therapists who do the work -in class, with their clients, and with themselves.

If you’re ready, if you’re singing out a YESSSS, then it would be an honour to walk hand-in-hand with you and support you in developing a deep level of mastery and confidence in yoga therapy.
